[INQ. NO. 1311M06] Shinan Heavy Industries, an affiliate of Youngchang Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. was established in 2005 to meet the market demand both from domestic and overseas customers. With the delivery of a 1,260 ton goliath crane to Hyundai Heavy Industries, the nation’s largest and a globally top-ranked shipbuilder, Shinan stepped up its efforts for large-scale potential manufacturing and delivery projects. In the same year, it followed up with the supply of a 19,000DWT mega block carrier.
In 2009, Shinan delivered its 34K DWT bulk carrier, “Super Star” to UAE-based Stellar Shipping opening an era of its overseas market pioneering. The same type, but another name of carrier, “RUBY STAR” was also shipped to the same buyer, reaffirming its growing awareness in the market. In 2010, Shinan has succeeded in capturing the Swiss market with its three 34K DWT bulk carriers for its counterpart Suisse-Atlantique S.A.
Shinan’s outstanding business results for 2011 were achieved mainly through an overseas trade partnership with Suisse- Atlantique S.A. following the collaboration launched the year before. For the buyer, this maker has especially prepared two 34K DWT bulk carriers named “Vully” and “Charmey,” respectively. The nation’s Hanjin was also included as one of its major customers for the year, with delivery of a 12.3K heavy lift carrier.
For offshore & plants, Shinan also proved its capacity by manufacturing and delivering its market-advanced 16,110 ton docking facility to Samsung C&T. And a 22,000 ton docking facility is now under construction and is scheduled to be delivered to Hyundai Development in December this year.
