[INQ. NO. 2205M10] Pluglink Inc. is a Charge Point Operator(CPO) focused on deploying charging infrastructures particularly within mass residential complexes(mainly apartments). It is also the only CPO to join the K-RE100 initiative committed to deliver renewable energy to EV owners. The company targets to provide convenient charging experiences where EV users enjoy easy, safe, and reliable charge points.
In response to the global transition to electric vehicles, South Korea is setting up EV charging points mainly driven by government subsidies. Amid the national commitment to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, Pluglink is aggressively scaling up to set up charging infrastructure through external financing.

Many CPOs based in South Korea require online registration and card ordering procedures which harms the EV user experiences. Pluglink on the other hand, eliminates all unnecessary steps and allows the required procedures to proceed through the mobile application. Pluglink users benefit from 1 minute to register, 30 seconds to connect EV with the charging point via QR code reading and automatic payment once charging is completed. The mobile application focuses to make owning an EV even easier through pioneering solutions aimed to provide a seamless charging experience.

Pluglink’s charging infrastructures are suitable for apartment complexes as they are equipped with a ‘dynamic load balancing’ function which allows for efficient distribution of limited power supply across multiple vehicles. This minimizes the burden on the current electricity grid of the building and thereby enables the deployment of more charging stations within each building.
Pluglink visions to accelerate the transition to carbon free mobility. Emissions from the transportation sector accounted for approximately 13.5% of South Korea’s total Carbon emission in 2018. Therefore for EVs to be truly aligned with green initiatives within the transportation sector, Pluglink offers EV users to not only charge their vehicles with renewable energy but also integrate sustainable mobility into their existing lifestyle.

Korea Planning to Expand the Supply of EVs andChargers for EVs

https://korean-machinery.com///inquiry

Aiming to be the World’s No. 1 in Future Automobile Competitiveness

For carbon neutrality in the transportation sector, which is responsible for 18.2% of global greenhouse gas emissions, moves are accelerating toward the cessation of the production of internal combustion engine cars and shifting to electric vehicles.
Leading countries are actively promoting eco-friendly vehicle support policies in connection with the development of their own industries, so it is expected that the electric vehicle market will grow rapidly.
The global electric vehicle market dominance is expected to grow sharply by more than 40% annually — from 1.7% (1.49 million units) in 2019, to 11.8% (11.8 million units) in 2025.

The Korean government is expanding the supply of electric vehicles and chargers — aiming to be the world’s No. 1 in future automobile competitiveness. The government aims to supply 1.13 million electric vehicles by 2025 and secure the world’s No. 1 competitiveness, establishing a proactive implementation strategy of charging infrastructure suitable for the popularization of electric vehicles, and aiming to supply 1.2 million fast chargers and 500,000 slow chargers by 2025.
Currently, domestic automobile manufacturing companies and corporate and private parties are actively participating in this strategic plan. Hyundai Motor is expecting to leap into the third place in electric vehicles by selling 1.06 million units annually in the global market by 2025, and Kia Motors has set a goal to increase the proportion of eco-friendly automobile sales to 25% (500,000 electric vehicles sold) by 2025.
Corporations are actively participating in a program for shifting to the zero-emission car K-EV 100 (replacing all corporate vehicles with zero-emission vehicles by 2030) and participating in the shift to electric vehicles as part of ESG management. With the image that electric vehicles are eco-friendly, the number of persons who wish to purchase electric vehicles is rapidly increasing – from 48.3% in 2018 to 58.2% in 2021.

Smart EVs

https://korean-machinery.com///inquiryEstablished in 2000, Semisysco, Co., Ltd. is a semiconductor and OLED solution company. Since its KOSDAQ IPO listing in its eleventh year in 2011, Semisysco has completed a smart EV lineup based on world-class technology and expertise, preparing for a second advance as an eco-friendly electric vehicle powerhouse.

Smart EV D2 (A perfect micro e-mobility that has already been certified in Europe)

D2 was the fourth best-selling electric car in the world in the first half of last year following Nissan Leaf, Tesla model S and model X. The D2 sold more than 50,000 models in Europe and China. In Korea, it is getting popular quickly as a next-generation means of transportation that fits the travel distance and purposes, e.g. for commuting, deliveries and public service.
In particular, the environmental protection effect and delivery and logistics transportation capability of D2 were recognized, and it was supplied to post offices as part of the government’s MOU project for popularization of environmentally friendly delivery systems. Currently a total of 30 D2 models are operated as mail delivery vehicles in post offices nationwide.
The D2 is rated as closest to a passenger car among the micro e-mobility models sold in Korea. As it comes with a lithium polymer battery (17.3kWh) with a capacity about double that of vehicles in the same class, it can run up to 150km. Compared to general micro e-mobility that can run 80km on one charging. It has nearly double the range.
As the winters are cold and long in Korea, micro e-mobility models are not very useful if they do not have a heating system even though they have good convenience features. But the D2 is the only micro e-mobility now on the roads in Korea that has a cooling and heating system.
