The 19th Korea International Packaging Exhibition received plenty of employees who thrive on the packaging industry. Running from 10th to 13th, this year’s exhibition broke records in three aspects: the number of exhibiting companies; the exhibit area; and the number of visitors. Korea Pack has become Asia’s number 1 packaging exhibition, outranking Japan’s.
With 3,000 booths of 1,000 companies from 23 countries, Korea Pack 2014 included packaging machinery for automatic packaging, automation equipment, packaging process testers, finished goods testers, machines to produce foods, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, packaging printing machines, eco-friendly packaging materials and containers, functional finished packaging products, relevant universities and media, and more.
Kyungyon, the host of the show gained great results from the export consultations, with about 82 million dollars worth attracting 325 buyers from 18 countries which has doubled in a year.
The main countries where the buyers came from include China, India, Southeast Asia, the USA and Europe, and direct buyers who currently do business with exhibiting companies stepped into the exhibition hall. Southeast Asia, especially, has a substantial population and is critically influenced by the Korean Wave, so it is considered an emerging market in the packaging industry.
Korea Pack 2014 merged SEOUL PACK hosted by KPMA (Korea Packaging Machinery Association) and KOREA PACK hosted by Kyungyon into one exhibition, which is held biennially in consideration of new product development period. It will encompass exhibition halls 1 and 2, and be held from April 26 to 19, 2016.
