Youngjin Worm Co., Ltd., a leading Korean company in the field of manufacturing servo-type precision worm reducers and gantry robot reducers, is growing into a global powerhouse. We met with Oh Taek-chun, CEO of the company, to hear about the company’s main products and future development strategies.

Would you please briefly introduce your company?
We are a leading Korean company specializing in manufacturing servo-type precision worm reducers and gantry robot reducers. In particular, we are recognized for our technological prowess by being the first in Korea to develop and apply the high-load drive unit of the Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) used in Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor manufacturing.
We have 15% price-competitiveness compared to our competitors, and German-level quality, and we are growing as a global technology partner that also cooperates with Tesla’s secondary battery equipment company. We are expanding our presence in global markets, such as India and the United States, through continuous R&D investment and overseas market development.
We are leading the global market with innovation and quality, and we are also opening up new possibilities in the development of high-load AMR technology and the next-generation robot reducer market.

Please briefly introduce your main export products
As a leading precision worm reducer manufacturer in Korea, we are accelerating our advancement into global markets. Our main products are the dual-lead servo-type precision worm reducer and the gantry robot reducer with a reduction ratio of 3.125:1, and we manufacture and sell them in both domestic and overseas markets.
We are leading the paradigm of the industrial robot market by developing and applying the drive part of the AMR, which has been applied to the semiconductor manufacturing process of Samsung Electronics for the first time in Korea. Compared to our European competitors ― Dynabox of France, and Atlanta of Germany ― we are providing excellent quality at low prices, and we are thus being chosen as a preferred supplier by global customers. This technology led to the holding-performance test certificates for each model from the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), further enhancing the reliability of our products’ quality.
We plan to preempt the next-generation market by developing more advanced drive units of high-load precision AMRs, a high value-added product in the future. We will advance further as a key company in the global reducer market through continuous research and development (R&D) and improving our overseas market expansion strategies.

What markets were impressive in the process of developing overseas markets in 2024?
China is a representative market that was impressive in the process of developing overseas markets in 2024. We are promoting sales in China through a cooperative partnership with Shanghai XM, and have also received much attention from global buyers through participation in the representative domestic robot exhibition.
At the exhibition, precision servo reducers and AMR’s drive units are product groups that are drawing keen attention both at home and abroad, and the European, Indian, and American markets are also evaluated as regions with high potential for development in the future. These markets have high demand for precision reducers and autonomous driving robots, and we are confident that strategic advancements will be made in the future.

What are your growth goals through change and innovation in 2025?
We have set a target of 20-30% growth compared to last year by expanding our overseas market share.
To achieve this, we plan to diversify our export markets from the existing Chinese market to the European, American, and Indian markets ― and complete the development and commercialization of a 2,000 kg-class high-load AMR drive reducer. We also plan to develop a next-generation high-efficiency servo-type reducer and enhance the quality of existing products.
To improve productivity, we plan to optimize part-sourcing and introduce a process automation system. In addition, we plan to achieve production process efficiency by introducing a smart factory and reduce the defect rate and increase production-efficiency by establishing a production line automation system.

What is your mid- to long-term development strategy for gradual growth in the global market?
The core aims of our mid- to long-term development strategy are market diversification, product-lineup expansion, conversion to a smart factory, and improvement of brand awareness. In particular, the development of a more advanced high-load AMR drive reducer and a next-generation servo-type precision reducer will be the key driving forces for future growth.
From 2025 through 2027, as I mentioned, we plan to expand into the Chinese, American, Indian, and European markets and secure at least 10 new buyers. From 2027 through 2030, we will establish global brand awareness and become a global top-5 worm reducer manufacturer.
Through these strategies, we plan to increase our competitiveness in the global market and secure sustainable growth engines.

Finally, is there a message you would like to convey to potential overseas customers?
We are a representative Korean company specializing in manufacturing servo-type precision worm reducers and AMR drive reducers, and all employees are working together with the goal of continuously developing new technologies and achieving the world’s best quality.
Today, we can see that the paradigms of the manufacturing and robot industries are changing rapidly. In line with these changes, we are actively responding to the needs of the global market with customized solutions and innovative technologies, and we believe that the reason why our products are loved in various overseas markets, such as China and Southeast Asia, is due to the trust and support of our customers.
In the future, we will continue to create a sustainable future based on customer-centered service spirit, and quality-innovation. As a successful partner for our overseas customers, we promise to continue striving to provide the best products and services. We welcome your continued interest and support. Thank you!
