Leading expansion of destination-charging infrastructure
As of December 2024, Korea ranks at the top globally in terms of charging infrastructure, with approximately two EVs per charger. However, around 70% of chargers are concentrated in residential facilities like apartment complexes, which are only accessible to residents. As a result, there is a shortage of public charging facilities available for all EV drivers, despite the growing demand.
To alleviate this problem, iPARKING analyzes parking lot entry and exit data to identify locations with high EV traffic.
By focusing on public, commercial, and cultural facilities, iPARKING is expanding charging infrastructure that allows EV drivers to charge their EVs conveniently, while visiting destinations along their daily routes.
iPARKING has gained expertise in the installation and operation of communication base stations from SK Telecom, Korea’s leading telecommunications company, and its ICT infrastructure service subsidiary, SK O&S.
Equipped with this know-how, iPARKING operates charging stations with the same level of reliability as communication base stations. As a result of these efforts, iPARKING maintains an average failure rate of just 0.1% for its charging stations.
