The most iconic shop can be found on the 3rd floor, a popular eco-friendly greenhouse café named Cheonsang Gaok. Seongsu Yeonbang has also earned some fame among K-pop fans for it was used as a birthday party event venue for Jimin of BTS.

Munchies and Goodies
Munchies and Goodies is a bakery and wine shop popular for its signature salted butter rolls, called sogeumppang in Korean. The salted butter rolls come out at 11:00 and 15:00, and both times usually require lining up by the store. The store has no seats inside and offers only take-out. Another dessert that’s worth a try is the shop’s original tigré, made using Korea’s traditional sweets called yakgwa (honey cookie).

LCDC Seoul
Once a building with a shoemaking factory and an auto repair shop, LCDC Seoul has transformed the place into a trending multipurpose culture center. SK Signet Discloses 400kW Ultra-fast Charger

At the 36th Electric Vehicle Symposium & Exposition (EVS36) held last month, SK Signet introduced a 400kW V2 charger that was first unveiled at CES 2023.


The V2 charger has already received a great response from the market by charging a Kia EV6 vehicle equipped with an 800V battery up to 80% within just 14 minutes and 44 seconds at a charging demonstration event held at a plant completion ceremony in Texas.


The V2 can charge two vehicles simultaneously with one charger (dispenser), and can output up to 400kW from a single port. It is the first 400kW ultra-quick charger produced in the United States, and with its ability to charge up to 80% in 15 minutes, it is the fastest electric vehicle charging product.


In addition, the V2 chargers are produced at a factory in the United States using American steel, making it one of the few products that can benefit from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program (NEVI). Since last month, SK Signet’s Texas plant started mass-production in earnest.


SK Signet also exhibited a prototype model of the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) that supplies power in megawatts (MW), for the first time at an international exhibition. The megawatt charger supplies more than 1000 kW of power, making it suitable for charging heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks and buses equipped with large-capacity batteries.


A spokesperson for SK Signet explained, “As the number of electric vehicle users increases, the level of customer demand for the charging experience will increase. In order to advance the era of electric vehicles, shortening the charging time is essential. So we are determined to advance the actual electric vehicle era through the further development of ultra-fast charging technology.”

Rising Exports of Machine Tools

Despite continued economic deterioration at home and abroad, recent exports of machine tools have shown rapid progress.


The Monthly Report of Machine Tool Statistics of the Korea Machine Tool Manufacturers Association revealed that Korea’s machine tools led exports to some regions including Russia, Indonesia, etc.—despite difficult conditions in the machine tools market in March, such as the global economic slowdown and deteriorating semiconductor industry conditions.


In addition, the exports of machine tool exports showed the highest performance in 64 months since November 2017 ($274 million).


Orders for machine tools in March were KRW 320.9 billion, down 0.9% year-on-year, but up 26.8% month-on-month.


Domestic orders increased 44.4% year-on-year to KRW 135.1 billion, while export orders decreased 19.3% year-on-year to KRW 185.8 billion. Orders from January to March of this year were KRW 829.9 billion, down 3.9% from the same period of last year.


Machine tool production in March was KRW 230.3 billion, down 3.3% year-on-year, but up 8.2% month-on-month. Exports of machine tools in the same month were up 25.1% year-on-year to $268 million, and up 30.0% month-on-month. In the same month, machine tool imports fell 25.6% year-on-year to $72 million, but up 13.6% month-on-month.

Tubular Pre-coated Filters

Performing high-filtration linear velocity
The tubular pre-coated filter (K-TTF) requires a compact installation area (approximately 1/4 of its existing technology), compared to the conventional pressurized filters and horizontal pressure & multi-layer composite filters. It is an excellent product that provides filtration linear velocity of 5 to 6.25 m/hr.


In order to improve filtration performance, the filter medium is coated in advance – and after the filter operation is performed, the contaminants and the filter medium on the surface of the filter tube are removed through desorption, and the filter operation is performed again. The filter medium has the advantage of being reusable.


In addition, if the filtration efficiency is not recovered through the desorption process, the filtration efficiency can be recovered through backwashing, which is excellent in terms of management efficiency, as it takes just 10 minutes once per week.
