Korean Packaging Equipment & Facilities to be in the Spotlight at Allpack Indonesia 2024

Indonesia’s largest packaging exhibition, “Allpack Indonesia 2024,” will be held over a period of four days from October 9 to October 12 at the JIE Exhibition Center in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.
This packaging and food exhibition has been held annually since 2000. Krista Exhibition, which hosts the exhibition, is a representative exhibition organizer in Indonesia and hosts various exhibitions related to packaging-related industries, as well as consumer goods.
The main exhibition items include packaging machinery/equipment necessary for the food/pharmaceutical industry – such as food and beverage processing-packaging; pharmaceutical processing and packaging; cosmetics packaging machinery; plastics; refrigeration; automation; quality-management systems; packaging technology and parts; and packaging materials. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibition was not held normally, but the scale and number of visitors recovered in the 2023 exhibition held after the pandemic.
Indonesia, where the exhibition is held, has a population of approximately 270 million, and the consumer market is growing every year based on its abundant labor force. Based on this growth background, demand for related foods, pharmaceuticals, etc. is expected to increase, and there is thus growing interest in “Allpack Indonesia.”

Rising awareness of Korean equipment and facilities
In addition, although the products from advanced countries in Europe and from Japan are strong in the Indonesian packaging machinery market, the interest in Korean products has been increasing recently due to K-Pop, K-Beauty, and K-Food, and thus the interest in Korean equipment and facilities is also increasing. Indonesia, the world’s fourth-largest economy in terms of population, is expected to show high-demand for consumer goods, medicines, and pharmaceuticals, and thus the demand for packaging equipment required for these items is also expected to increase.
Even during the COVID-19 situation, Indonesia’s food and beverage industry was growing, and the Indonesian government is known to be prioritizing automation of the packaging industry in order to activate Industry 4.0 in the future. Manufacturers are generally known to be aiming to produce products more efficiently by automating their production processes.
A spokesperson for the Korea Packaging Machinery Association (KPMA) remarked, “Korean exhibitors are expected to participate in the “Allpack Indonesia” exhibition in Indonesia to showcase Korea’s excellent technologies and meet with buyers. Meanwhile, KPMA and KOTRA have established an overseas group pavilion (Korea Pavilion) to help Korean companies enter the Indonesian market.”
