Automotive Industry Tashkent (AIT), to be held in Uzbekistan from Aug. 23~26, is the third exhibition this year, and more than 200 companies will be participating including finished car manufacturers and parts manufacturers ― from the CIS, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
This year, Korea will set up a 200-square-meter Korean Pavilion where 24 Korean companies will unveil their attractive items ― with an aim to target the Uzbekistan market as an alternative to the Russian market, which has been disrupted by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

A variety of Korean-made quality automotive parts ― including visors, bulbs, crucial components for automobile engines, tires, filters, brake pads, bearings, and pumps ― are
expected to capture keen attention among potential buyers.
Uzbekistan is a major automobile production base in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), replacing Russia, producing about 400,000 units of passenger cars annually and exporting cars to Russia and other CIS countries.

Uzbekistan passenger car sales in 2022 totaled 1.3 million units, doubled from 646,900 units in the previous year, and recorded 1.69 million units in 2023.
However, the number of automobiles supplied still lags behind other CIS member countries, recording 87 cars per 1,000 persons, the lowest among CIS countries except Tajikistan.
