Masterbatch, also called concentrate, is a term used in the plastics industry to denote a pelletized plastic material, containing highly loaded pigments and/or additives, which is used in a polymer system to change the final color and/or properties of plastic.
There are basically two kinds of masterbatches – color masterbatch and additive masterbatch. Color masterbatches are used by the plastic converters to give various colors to their plastic products.
Additive masterbatches are also used by the plastic converters to provide their products with special properties including antioxidant, antistatic, conductive, flame retarding, and ultraviolet stabilizing properties.

Color MB and Additive MB

SAMHWA’s color MB is supplied to such various fields as automobiles, film, injection, extrusion, etc. For automobiles, SAMHWA supplies mainly black MB for interior and outer parts application to Hyundai Kia in Korea and Japan’s Toyota, Daihatsu, and Matsuda. For film, SAMHWA mainly supplies agriculture and multiplayer film and commercial products. For pipes, SAMHWA mainly supplies PE, and PP pipe industries.
SAMHWA supplies various additive masterbatches including commercial products and special products. Its main additive MB supply is F/R, for PE, PP, PS, PBT, ABS, etc. The antistatic MB is intended for general application and BOPP, ABS, PS, etc.
