Doosan Infracore enters Vietnamese bus market

https://korean-machinery.com///inquirySouth Korea’s top machinery manufacturer Doosan Infracore Co. will supply bus engines for Vietnamese commercial vehicle makers as part of efforts to ride on the burgeoning Vietnamese bus market.

Doosan Infracore recently showcased a compressed natural gas-powered bus at an event celebrating its first supply batch of bus engines to Vietnam-based Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corp (SAMCO) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The company plans to ship nearly 500 bus engines and bare-bone chassis for four commercial vehicle makers including SAMCO and 1-5 Auto JSC in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese bus market has been growing rapidly in recent years. According to Vietnamese auto manufacturers’ association, the number of buses sold in Vietnam last year increased 20 percent to 14,770 units from 12,178 units in the previous year. The large-sized bus market, which Doosan Infracore seeks to win with its bus engines doubled to 6,214 units last year from 3,027 in 2015.

The Korean machinery maker plans to set up auto repair centers and provide trainings for mechanics in Vietnam with a goal to expand out to other Southeast Asian bus market.

It also aims to sell 500 units of bus engines in Indonesia that is scheduled to hold the Asian Games 2018.

Korean trade chief confident of $1tn trade this year

https://korean-machinery.com///inquirySouth Korea’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the second quarter ended June 30 grew 0.6 percent against the previous three-month period, losing steam from the surprising pickup of 1.1 percent in the first quarter as overall manufacturing activity stayed subdued except for semiconductors and petrochemicals.

According to second-quarter preliminary data recently released by the Bank of Korea, the country’s GDP totaled 386.6 trillion won ($344.3 billion) in the April-June period. The figure was unchanged from the headline number released in late July.

Against a year-ago period, the GDP grew 2.7 percent in the second quarter, slowing from 2.9 percent gain in the first quarter.

The string of data released recently – the biggest jump in inflation in more than five years, still-robust exports and slowed growth – underscored instability in the recovery pace.

Overseas shipment in the second quarter contracted 2.9 percent on quarter, reversing from 2.1 percent gain in the previous quarter as automobile shipment to China sharply dropped due to Beijing’s retaliation against Seoul’s installation of a powerful U.S antimissile battery. The figure was revised up slightly from 3.0 percent fall in July.

Imports also shrank by 1.0 percent due to reduced crude oil import. Manufacturing output fell 0.3 percent on quarter. The domestic demand showed improvement amid expectations for the new government’s promise to increase income and hiring.

 

 

Private consumption rose 1.0 percent on quarter in the biggest gain in six quarters. Facilities investment surged 5.2 percent on quarter and 17.3 percent on year due largely to expansion in chipmaking facility.

Construction investment also edged up 0.3 percent, compared with 6.8 percent gain in the first quarter.

Gross corporate investment rate was 31.5 percent, up from 30.5 percent in the first quarter and highest since the second quarter of 2012.

By sector, agriculture and fisheries output fell 1.1 percent, manufacturing 0.3 percent, and construction 1.3 percent. Service output accelerated by 0.8 percent, reflecting a slight recovery in consumer demand.

Gross national income in the second quarter after seasonal adjustment shrank 0.6 percent from the previous quarter to 401.6 trillion won due to a sharp rise in dividend payment made by local firms to offshore investors. The final figure was revised down from 403.5 trillion won in July.

The share of gross saving against GDP slightly declined to 35.7 percent from 36.9 percent in the first quarter as private expenditure grew 2.3 percent, faster than an increase of 0.4 percent in disposable income.

The largest tradeshow in Korea focusing on the safety and security industry

K-Safety Expo (Korea International Safety and Security Expo), the largest tradeshow in Korea focusing on the safety and security industry, will celebrate its 3rd edition this November. The show is hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and Gyeonggi Province. K-Safety Expo will be held at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) from November 15-17, 2017.

With a record-breaking amount of contracts – worth nearly US$160 million – signed last year, K-Safety Expo was highly praised for providing the most optimal platform for showcasing safety-related products and promoting trade. Last year’s event drew active participation by national delegations from countries including Bangladesh, Vietnam, Pakistan, Mongolia, the Russian Federation, Belarus and Mexico.

More international delegations and general visitors than last year are expected to take part in K-Safety Expo 2017 to get a first-hand look at the most cutting-edge safety and security technology and products. In particular, this year’s event will feature a large presence of IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence)-related exhibitors, in sectors including disaster prevention, security, maritime, traffic, hygiene/health and public service. Aluminum Access Floor

Access floor refers to floors that are installed 10-30 cm above the existing floors of electric, machine, semiconductor handling rooms and offices. Due to its height, various electric and communication wires may be installed in-between the floors without extra installation of pipes and wire trays. Also, for rooms that are highly sensitive to temperature- and humidity-change such as rooms handling electric equipment and semiconductor equipment, air conditioning systems may be easily installed in-between the floors with installation of additional ducts.
Aluminum access floors, despite their superior rigidity and product merits, were limited to ultra-high-end offices and high-tech buildings where advanced load management, dust prevention, soundproofing and antistatic property are required (e.g. semiconductor plants) due to their price, which is three to five times higher than that of access floors made from steel, wood, and plastic. The design of the panel bottom effectively disperses load concentrations. Increased load resistance from weight and impact distribution gives the product a semi-permanent lifespan.

 

Used Diecasting Machinery

Kwangnam GSK now sells such competitive used diecasting machinery as second-hand cold chambers, and high pressure casting m/c. These products having 1,250tons in pressure capacity are manufactured by Japan-based UBE. These products ware overhauled in 2008 in South Korea and can be automatically operated.
