Next-generation Car Technology Innovation at a Glance!

In this era, where next-generation green technologies are in the limelight worldwide, a lot of attention has been paid to technologies focusing not only on the emission of carbon dioxide but also on promoting efficiency.
Under the slogan, “In pursuit of innovation of next-generation automobile technology,” the 2018 Automotive Weight Reduction Technology Fair was held at Kintex II, Ilsan Korea, from February 7 to 9, welcoming auto-industry insiders and workers.
Opening its doors for the third time this year, this exhibition presented a variety of latest technologies for the next generation of the automotive industry ranging from lightweighting processing technologies and molding equipment such as carbon fiber composite materials, fiber reinforced plastics, lightweight classes to various analysis and inspection equipment and software technologies.
During the exhibition, the Materials Machining System Fair was also held featuring light metals, processing equipment, and industrial 3D printers. Also accompanied was the Korea-EU Automotive Lightweighting Technology Advancement Forum attracting a lot of visitors.
In this exhibition hosted by the MICE Forum and conducted by the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) Composite Technology Research Center, Frank Henning, Vice-President of the Fraunhofer ICT, a German research institution for chemical technology, and LuIse Karger, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, delivered presentations on the subject of advanced technologies and global trends for automotive lightweighting, heralding a new paradigm.

In addition, the Engineer Open Technology Seminar was held in the exhibition hall, providing an opportunity for sharing information among companies that developed new products and new technologies.
An exhibition official explained, “The 2018 Automotive Weight Reduction Technology Fair was a meaningful event where one could see lightweighting materials and equipment such as carbon fiber composite materials, fiber reinforced plastics, lightweight classes that attract worldwide attention all at one place. KEPCO Plays a Catalytic Role in Exporting Korean Power Equipment to Cambodia

KEPCO Signs MOU for an Export Demonstration Project with Local Companies in Cambodia and Domestic SMEs.

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) has served as a stepping stone for advancing into the market for power equipment in Cambodia in cooperation with domestic SMEs.
Recently in Cambodia, KEPCO signed an MOU for an export demonstration project with Best Partner Co. (BPC), a Cambodian power supply company, and Icel E&C, a demonstration project agency, as a pilot project to export Korean electric equipment to Cambodia.
The Export Demonstration Project is designed to install the quality products and systems developed for KEPCO and SMEs through coordinated R&D and demonstrate their suitability for the local environment to win export contracts.
This export demonstration project is a stand-alone microgrid (MG) power supply solution that utilizes solar power and batteries simultaneously based on the energy self-sufficient island project that KEPCO has promoted for many years. Starting with the demonstration project of the Cambodia stand-alone microgrid system, it is expected that an export contract worth about US$4.6 million will be signed for installation in 100 locations in Cambodia in 2019 and beyond.
Icel E&C is scheduled to install three independent MG systems consisting of 16 kW photovoltaic system and 2600AH batteries for power supplies used in mobile phone base stations in Cambodia.
Hwang Kwang-soo, Director- General of the Export Cooperation Department at KEPCO, attended the MOU signing and explained, “We hope that this project will improve the overall performance of electric power facilities in power stations in Cambodia by using high-quality Korean equipment. I also wish Cambodia and Korea have a long-lasting partnership.”
“KEPCO’s power technology is the best in the world,” remarked Paul Sabandi, president of BPC in Cambodia, adding, “We hope that KEPCO and Cambodia will maintain continuous exchange and cooperation through this project.”
Starting with this MOU, KEPCO is expecting to sign an agreement for export demonstration projects with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the only electric utility company in Malaysia and also the largest publiclylisted power company in Southeast Asia, and Indonesia Electric Power Corporation Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), an Indonesian government-owned corporation providing electricity distribution.

Please tell us about your company and its driving force of growth

Dotech Inc. specializes in manufacturing refrigeration and airconditioning equipment, controllers and sensors for environment measurement equipment including refrigerators, thermo-hygrostats, air conditioners, air compressors, heat pumps and clean rooms. Dotech exports to more than 40 countries across the world as well as the domestic market while supplying around 200 kinds of products to related companies at home and abroad.

 

Please explain your main products

Dotech seeks to provide a fine-grained product lineup based on its built-up specialty areas. Dotech’s exceptional advantages include specialized product groups such as HUVAC & R equipment, air compressors, clean room facilities, and differential pressure sensors with temperature and humidity. In particular, the customization service of Dotech developing and providing tailor-made products to reflect consumers’ requests further enhances the our competitiveness.
Dotech’s products comprise a number of series, as it aims to produce exclusive products optimized for the equipment to be applied rather than products for general purposes with run-of-the-mill performance. The increase in the number of its products reflects the increased manpower and costs in all areas including development, production, and management. Still, Dotech sticks to small quantity batch production for the benefit of its customers through segmentation of the product lineup to address the customers’ various requirements as a strategy to react to market conditions to provide efficient and stable products for various business environments.
In addition, Dotech is currently dedicating itself to developing products by focusing not only on performances but on other factors such as designs in consideration of consumers’ preferences. As a result, Dotech has successfully launched products differentiated from existing domestic counterparts, such as HTX500, a high-performance explosion-proof transmitter, and HPX1000, and flush-type differential pressure transmitter with temperature, humidity, and dew point. Concentrating also on the development of energy-saving product lines that emerged as a part of government policy, Dotech has developed VSD +, an energy-saving control device for air compressors, receiving positive response from the manufacturing industry as well as gaining international acknowledgment for its technological contribution.

 

What are your major export markets and emerging markets?

As the manufacturing industry becomes more sophisticated, the demand from global markets for highperformance control- and measuring-equipment is exploding. In line with this trend, Dotech has invested heavily in expansion into overseas markets based on its technology accumulated in the domestic market and has been supplying products to more than 40 countries around the world. As a result, around 20% of annual sales amounting to KRW4 billion are achieved in overseas markets. Dotech plans to increase its global sales by 50% in the future by strengthening its international marketing. To this end, the company is engaged in various marketing activities such as participating in major international exhibitions and utilizing online marketplaces around the globe.

 

Do you have any future plan and one last message for your foreign buyers and customers?

Dotech’s products attract affl uent foreign buyers at various international exhibitions. Therefore, Dotech is actively engaged in overseas marketing, while developing exclusive products for global markets that are equipped with only core functions at reduced prices.

Seal Units

https://korean-machinery.com///inquiry[INQ. NO. 1803M03] Seal units are used in semiconductor frontend process and petrochemical fields – especially, large OLED devices, CMP devices in semiconductors and reactors, and mixers in petrochemicals. It plays a critical role in this field.
Seal units are divided into two categories of mechanical seals and magnetic seals. These can be applied to different fields. Mechanical seals are used in pressured conditions and usually are applied in the petrochemical industry and must be used with a lubricant supply system. Magnetic seals, on the other hand, are used in vacuumed conditions based on ferrofluids. They are usually applied to semiconductor industries that use vacuum seals a lot. For this reason, seal (feedthrough) manufacturers generally target just one field, petrochemicals or semiconductors.
Sealink’s seal, however, can use both fields and make up for the weak points of mechanical seals and magnetic seals. Sealink has various kinds of seal units, with rotary & linear feedthrough among the most prominent items. There are rotary feedthroughs in the market, and these can just rotate. Therefore metal bellows should be used if the customer wants rotation and linear motion. Sealink products, however, are very simple and compact. It can do all this at the same time with just one unit.
