S-Phalt
S-Phalt is a high-viscosity modified asphalt. It is added with RMC modifier during manufacturing asphalt mixture. It has high porosity that allows rainwater to drain through the continuously porous asphalt paving.
As the rainwater immediately drains through the porous paving, it also significantly improves skid resistance, noise reduction and enhances the visibility due to the mitigation of reflection.

It ensures improved resistance to plastic deformation by using high viscosity modifier; prevents secession of aggregate owing to the increased adhesion; and ensures higher visibility of the road when it rains and driving at night. This solution also helps the significant mitigation of noise (3~5Db) when compared to the dense asphalt pavement.
S-Phalt proves high application quality, especially in underpasses and overpasses, general roads, park and walk roads, and riverside roads.

S ll Asphalt
S II Asphalt, a modified asphalt concrete added with RMC modifier by the plant-mix method when producing asphalt mixture, enhancing deformation resistance, low temperature crack resistance, and fatigue resistance in repeat loading, compared to the normal asphalt pavement. Could you please introduce the company and what are the driving forces of the company’s amazing growth?

The Hwacheon Group was founded in May 1952 by the late Mr. Kwon Seunggwan, under the name of Hwacheon Machine Tool Company. He started his job as a foundry apprentice when he was a teenager during the Japanese colonial period, in order to help support his family. He had full confidence in his honesty and outstanding skills he honed during the apprenticeship. He took over the foundry company in August 1945, and established Hwacheon Machine Tool Company based on the existing foundry in May 1952.
The name of Hwacheon was derived from two words, namely “Hwa,” which has the meaning of commodities or money, and “cheon,” which has the meaning of fountain, and together meaning “the fountain of wealth.” To sum up, Hwacheon started out in the machinery tool business, which had not been developed yet in the domestic market, with the vision of reviving the machinery industry and maintaining sustainable development of the industry. Since its establishment, Hwacheon Group has grown into a leading machinery manufacturer in South Korea. The company has achieved several significant milestones, which form an indelible part of the company’s history, such as the first belt-driven lathe that was invented in the late-1950s, followed by the first numerical control machine tool in 1977, which was submitted for International Manufacturing Technology Show in 1978 as a first overseas exhibit of Hwacheon. Hwacheon developed the first CNC milling machine in 1983, and the first machining center in 1987.

The city is experiencing an increase of cars by 400,000 annually, and with population of 10 million, one household used to average 0.8 cars, but now one household has an average of 1.2 cars with the rapid increase of vehicle ownerships.
Even though China has approximately 300 parking-lot facility companies and more than 5,000 steel structure companies, there are very few top-class companies with competence, and with China’s huge size and its potential, it is still considered as a land of opportunity for development.
When setting up a business for a parking lot facility within China, one has to understand the domestic market of China, and there is a need for a strategy that maximizes final profits by creating the maximum number of orders despite small margins in consideration of the huge size of the Chinese market. The most important thing at this point is that the Chinese clients are satisfied and moved by the cutting-edge technology and service of KOREA M.P.E. To meet the rising expectations of Chinese clients, the facilities should be basically safe with low failure rate and be convenient for parking.

Please tell us about your company and its main growth engines

UNISON eTech has been able to secure core technology and the best quality in plant business that produces piping support products, construction parts that deal with vibration isolation, and control products in preparation for earthquakes and the renewable energy business.
I believe our growth engines depends on stability and release of our products with various specifi cations that buyers and clients require through business partnerships with domestic and international businesses.

Tell us about your main products

Our main products include bridge expansion joints, piping supports that go into piping lines of plants, seismic restraints that improve safety against earthquakes and wind loads.
Our biggest advantage is the fact that the company provides customized products based on required specifi cations by clients, core technology and quality with various products portfolio.
Although our sales in the domestic market are stable, export performance is relatively low. To increase our exportation, our company is using online marketing and advertising. The domestic construction and plant industry has reached a mature level, so now is the time to change paradigms to vitalize the sluggish domestic construction and plant industry.

What about emerging markets and your main export markets?

Currently, UNISON eTech’s exports are limited to the USA and Japan. In future, however, we will expand our sales to Southeast Asia and Europe.
Especially, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the demand for natural gas is expected to grow more than 50% by 2035. Therefore, the infrastructure market for natural gas is expected to grow rapidly in North America and Africa. I believe this will present us with an opportunity to break through, instead of relying on the sluggish domestic construction and plant industry

What is your management philosophy as CEO?

I have only two things that I would like to mention. First, I would like to create an environment where employees can enjoy themselves working. For that purpose, we make efforts to support our employees internally and recruit people of talent externally, with realization of the fact, humans come first.

What is your vision for the future and do you have any message for overseas buyers and clients?

In the future, we will try to diversify our business structure through development and sourcing of items related to our products. I am sorry to say the fact that the superiority of our products and services has not been very well recognized in overseas markets, compared with our success in Korea.
Our objective is to reach two-digit growth rate, higher than 10%, through aggressive sales in major overseas markets, based on our experience in dealing with large companies.

The compressed air treating equipment is very important and widely used in various industries. Much of the condensate and vaporized oil is produced as a by-product when air is compressed by air compressor. If they are not removed properly, they can shorten the lifetime of various pneumatic tools and equipment and also lead to the shutdown of the entire production lines.

Representative Products of GSA – Desiccant Dryer, Refrigerated Air Dryer, etc.
Desiccant dryers (also known as Regenerative Desiccant Dryers) run the compressed air through a chamber filled with desiccant, which is usually activated alumina or silica gel. The desiccant absorbs the moisture in its millions of pores, thereby trapping it. If the air dryer is using a smart controller, the compressed air dryer changes chambers when the dew point downstream begins to change, indicating the desiccant is wet.
Other models change on a set timer. The wet desiccant is regenerated, or dried, by the compressed air dryer’s hot purge air. The hot air drives off the moisture preparing the desiccant for its next cycle.
A refrigerated air-dryer removes moisture from the air through the use of a heat exchanger. An air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger is used to cool the air so that the vapor condenses into water.
