Four-axis-foldable-bed-for-machining-centersAmong them, the former is more at the forefront of the company’s drive into new markets with advanced capabilities. The Built-in multiple axis dividing jig system allows the bed to make five axis foldable beds (up to four ) more easily, quickly and stably by utilizing ball screw and LM-guide, avoiding the uncertainties of the market. Based on this operating principle, it is necessary for operators to join a servo-motor to a ball-screw. The block and bed are connected symmetrically to the LM-guide. After changing the rotary motion into a straight-line motion, it would be able to control angle by utilizing triple support axis. It is a kind of system to control the angle by applying a trigonometric function to measure the linear distance. A series of operations of clamping a linear motion and using a full-air brake on LM-guide are important. So, precision clamping system is required for fixing in the exact position. G.M Precision Manufacture Company’s ultimate aim is to be a global standard by ceaseless research and development in the world.

Four-wheel-drive sedans becoming general trend

The sales of four-wheel-drive sedans have surged in South Korea, smashing the existing believe that the normal sedan is a front-wheel-drive car while a luxurious sedan is a rear-wheel-drive car. This is because, in Korea where heavy snow falls in winter while heavy rain falls in summer, four-wheel-drive cars are more effective than front-wheel-drive cars or rearwheel-drive cars. About this, Hyundai Motor said “63 percent of 37,700 units of Genesis selling last year were four-wheel-drive vehicles.”

The global top-five automaker has been applied a four-wheel-drive system to only recreational vehicles (RV) but, with the launch of Genesis in December, 2013, it succeeded in releasing HTRAC, its four-wheel-drive system for sedans. Contrary to expectations of market experts, a steadily growing number of customers are choosing the high-priced four-wheel-drive cars than rear-wheel-drive cars.

Consumers’ preference for four-wheel-drive vehicles is also greatly reflected in luxurious imported car brands. Germany’s most premium sedan brands are selling four-wheel-drive sedans, along with rear-wheeldrive cars. A classic case is that of Mercedes-Benz. The automotive company said “4MATIC sedan, released as a four-wheel-drive car last year, was selling more than three times from the same period of the previous year.”

Mercedes-Benz has sold units of 2,779 vehicles with five models in the four-wheel-drive sedan market in 2013 and increased the number of models to 13 last year with customers’ explosive demand for four-wheel-drive sedans. A spokesperson of the company said, “With bad conditions of weather such as heavy snow in Korea, consumers show an obvious trend of preferring rearwheel drive to four-wheel drive when they purchase luxurious sedans,” adding, “We are considering a plan to introduce more four-wheel-drive models.”

KOTRA’s decision to help domestic 1,400 companies transform into exporters

The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) plans to foster 1,400 small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as competent exporters in order to aid the government’s target of elevating the annual export to $2 trillion by 2020. In last year, Korea exported goods and services worth $573.1 billion

The newly appointed head of KOTRA, Kim Jae-hong, said recently that it will choose 1,400 companies focused on the domestic market and encourage them develop into exporters with global market leaderships over the next few years. Toward achieving this goal, the agency plans to help about 420 firms advance into potential markets overseas.

The new president said “It is impossible for Korea to attain its export growth to $2 trillion by 2020 without nurturing small, competitive exporters. “The nation, which has overcome a series of economic downturns by increasing export volume, has to create new growth engines abroad.”

According to KOTRA, it aims to expand the number of exporters to 100,000 by 2017 and nurture at least 400 companies that export items worth $100 million annually through closely cooperating with the Creative Economy Innovation Centers across the nation to nurture startups as exporters.

For providing more comprehensive support to exporters, the body will boost cooperation with the Korea International Trade Association, K-Sure, the Korea Export-Import Bank and other traderelated state agencies.

KOTRA carries out its mission of creating market research and other materials while offering a wider range of consulting services for export. Recognizing its insufficient support for potential export companies, it was determined to work more closely together with other related agencies in an open collaboration to offer the more upgraded comprehensive package of support, including financial assistance.

KOTRA also decided to place a larger emphasis on encouraging enterprises in the areas of entertainment, medical and other services sectors into exporters. Such decision is based on its own analysis of the reality facing the nation – that manufacturing sector-oriented moves cannot alone help Korea to accomplish the nation’s aim of attaining $2trillion in exports. “The nation now needs to help services industry companies sell their goods and services in foreign markets, the president said. We will also support exporters take advantage of booming e-Commerce and other new trade platforms. We will expand our presence in South America and Central Asia for local companies that seek ways to enter swiftly growing markets there,” he said.

KOTRA also plans to assist exporters in using free trade gagreements (FTAs) the nation has signed, focusing on helping companies capitalize on the Korea-China FTA through increasing the number of employees at its offices in China for the growing number of Korean firms operating there.

WEA 2015

WEA 2015
Making Jeju Island the mecca of Asia’s wind power energy

This world now faces multiple critical situations against frequent natural destruction and energy depletion due to exhaustion of resources, global warming and greenhouse gas emissions. The alternative eco-natural energy development, utilizing solar thermal energy, wind power energy, wave power energy and water power energy has come to the fore.

WEA-2015 While these types of energy may be geographically limited, environment of windy island of Jeju is ideal for wind power energy development. Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has developed new renewable energy technology, producing low-carbon resources through on-shore wind power energy and off-shore wind power energy. The Jeju wind power plant project to build eco-future-city-Jeju has marked Jeju the mecca of Asia wind power from mecca of Korea wind power.

By holding three natural titles of UNESCO, Jeju Island has become an Asian tourism hub. Hosting Wind Energy Asia 2015 makes Juju Island becoming the hub of the Asian wind energy industry. Wind Energy Asia is the first certified outstanding exhibition in Jeju Island and it has been selected as a “locally specialized exhibition.”

Wind Energy Asia (WEA) 2015 recently ended after finishing three days of its official event schedules from Feb. 4 through Feb. 6 with a wider range of development than that of last year. It was co-hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the National Assembly, the New and Renewable Energy Search Forum, and Jeju Special Self- Governing Province.

As many as four thousands participants from the wind power industry, government officials, public and private enterprises and academia gathered for the international conference and exhibition. In particular, this WEA was highly meaningful in its history. Marking its third edition, it suggests a vision to solve the problems of the sharply depleted fossil fuel and the still excessively high rate of dependence on energy imports, and supplied a place by which the persons interested could discuss their roles and ways of boosting cooperation among them for the issues regarding energy. More than one hundred global wind power companies and over four thousands participants exchanged the latest technologies and information related to energy by utilizing the effectively established network.

As the nation’s only wind power-specialized exhibition, WEA played, as it was, as a venue for exchanging the latest wind power technologies. This year WEA was composed of four major sectors of New Technologies of Wind Power Energy through participation of system companies both from Korea and overseas, Korea-organized Export Consultation targeting professional buyers, Wind Power focused Conference, Wind Energy International Seminar attended by wind power professionals and businessmen in the Asia region in order to exchange the wind power status both in Korea and abroad.

Through the exhibition, wind turbines (sea surface wind turbines, big-sized wind turbines, small-sized wind turbines, systems and software (controlling technology, hybrid system, computer controlled MSR technology, safety systems, CMS, crane base installation, anti-corrosion switch installation technology, island system, measurement technology software, 3D measurement equipment, etc.), and parts (main shaft, tower, rotor blades, rotor hubs, transformers, gears, cables, cables conduits, lubricants, wind & water pumps, screws, bolts, etc.) are displayed, gaining keen attention among participants on the spot and inspiring them to develop new business more energetically and creatively than before.
