RailLog Korea 2023

https://korean-machinery.com///inquiry

Biennially held since 2003, RailLog Korea is positioning itself as the latest and globally competitive venue for railway technology, interior fittings, infrastructure, and logistics. RailLog Korea is now ranked the world’s fourth-largest railway show, with 17,000 sqm of exhibition space.
The 11th edition of the fair will take place on June 14-17, 2023 at the Busan Exhibition & Convention Centre in Busan, South Korea. RailLog Korea presents great growth potential, thanks to the geographical benefits of Busan, as the very starting point and final destination of the Trans-Asian Railway (TAR) network.
Busan, a hub city where all logistics functions including railroad, port, air, and highways are integrated, is now emerging as the genuine hub for railways and logistics in Northeast Asia.

Review of RailLog Korea 2021
Because of travel restrictions due to COVID-19, only limited numbers of exhibitors from abroad were able to join the show, with all international brands represented by their local Korean sales offices. Nonetheless, RaiLog Korea still attracted 95 exhibitors (2019: 165) and an impressive 21,484 visitors (2019: 20,106).
Although it was not easy to attend RailLog Korea from abroad, interest in the show remained hotter than ever. Mr. Park Heong-joon, Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, visited the fairground to celebrate the 10th edition. He remarked: “The importance of this 10th edition is significant. Taking place in Busan – the future center of transportation logistics in Northeast Asia and the gateway to the Eurasian continental railway, the fair remains the best place to showcase the technology of Korea’s railway industry. The organizers have made great efforts to comply with the quarantine rules to make it a safe and successful event.”
Representatives of foreign embassies and chambers of commerce from Europe, Africa, and several Asian countries also visited the show to mark the 10th edition, and familiarize themselves with the exhibition venue.

Mr. Dirk-Oliver Lukat, Chairperson of the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea was highly impressed with the show: “Particularly considering the pandemic, RailLog Korea 2021 was a huge success! We have appreciated the networking opportunities as well as the inspiring and innovative exhibition.”
Hyundai Rotem attracted visitors by exhibiting two models of its rolling stock. Notably, the company showcased a tram powered by hydrogen fuel cells, with visitors encouraged to inspect the carriages and watch detailed presentations on developments in hydrogen technologies. The company also demonstrated their high-speed EMU-320 train which is scheduled to be delivered to Korea’s public rail operator Korail.
Mr. Keum Changsun, Director of the Public Relations Department of SR – a railway service provider in Korea, discussed the exposure that RailLog Korea generates for its exhibitors, saying: “RailLog Korea has demonstrated that railway and related technologies in Korea are gradually becoming superior. The show has established itself as a bridge to promote the country’s excellent railway technology to the world.”
Woojin Industrial Systems was another big name to welcome visitors with their latest rolling stock, which is planned to be delivered to the Seoul Metro. The company’s Apollo 1100 electric bus was also exhibited for the first time at RaiLog Korea to reflect the latest eco-friendly trends in mobility.

FOEX Trade Center Emerging as a Leader in a NewConcept of Trade Methods

https://korean-machinery.com///inquiry

Acting as a bridge between state agencies and businesses
Creation of the world’s first semi-public private enterprise
FOEX Trade Center was established in 2017 with the awareness of the need for a company to create a business in the middle ground between state institutions and companies amid intensifying competitions within each group in modern times.
FOEX Trade Center is creating business between government agencies and companies by proposing mutual trade, cultural and sports exchanges, and educational exchanges through import and export consultations — to government agencies, public institutions, and state-owned companies located in China.

Promotion of a new concept trade market in the FTA era
Kim Seung-su, chairman of FOEX Trade Center, invented a new term called Trade Direct Dealing (TDD), a new concept trade method that transforms individual marketing into integrated marketing for small and medium-sized manufacturers.

Chairman Kim explained, “The FOEX Trade Center will gradually expand its business scope into global supply chains as the first step in September this year through the role of the purchasing agency by exhibiting samples such as building materials, furniture, etc. – in collaboration with the city of Fuoshan, China. The Republic of Korea has the largest economic territory in the world with FTAs in place with 59 countries around the world, including Indonesia, which was added from January 2, 2023, and it is thus necessary to attract foreign capital based on this.”

Building of the world’s first offline export/import
network for industrial goods The chairman added, “In the concept of a trade market, the operation of a permanent trade center that enables regular buyer matching and import/ export consultations is important, rather than just
being limited to an event-type trade fair.”
FOEX Trade Center plans to build a global supply chain centered on purchasing agency in Saemangeum by linking up small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the world with integrated marketing, which is weak in marketing, through utilizing offline platforms such as O2O, B2B, and B2B2C for industrial goods, which are impossible for export and import in B2B in Alibaba and B2B2C in Amazon.

Promotion of MCN Special Economic Zone in
Saemangeum
He suggested the socalled Saemangeum MCN Special Economic Zone for the establishment of a strategic export and import base for young people’s entrepreneurship and employment while first using the term Multi Channel Network (MCN) in the 2022 presidential election pledge proposal, and thus to create a youth digital economic city in Saemangeum.

.

EcoPro expects that the establishment of a local production plant in Hungary will serve as a bridgehead for securing orders in the European finished vehicle market, which is considered a new market.
Previously, EcoPro succeeded in establishing the world’s first secondary battery industrial ecosystem called the ‘Closed Loop Eco-System’ at the eco-battery Pohang Campus in Yeongilman Industrial Complex, Pohang, and is producing high-performance high-nickel cathode materials.

Slow Charger with EV Fire-Detection

https://korean-machinery.com///inquiry

Amid growing concerns about electric vehicle fires, EVAR, a company specializing in electric vehicle charging solutions, has recently developed a slow charger that is excellent for fire detection.
EVAR recently announced that it has launched a new slow charger, the Smart EV Charger 2023. The company explained that it obtained not only safety confirmation, but also electromagnetic compatibility certification and type approval.

For the first time in the world, this product is equipped with a sensor that detects infrared rays and temperature when a fire breaks out in a vehicle or space in front of the charger. In the event of a fire, it has a function that immediately stops charging and sends an alarm to the control center connected to the server, and even reports to the competent control agency if necessary. As a result, if the initial response is quicker, the damage can be minimized and the user’s safety can be protected.
In addition, to enhance user convenience, the BT PnC (Bluetooth Plug and Charge) automatically recognizes the user without an app or card to provide a convenient electric vehicle charging experience. When the user’s mobile phone is brought near the charger, the user is automatically authenticated and the charging service is activated.
Externally, while the electric vehicle charger model with a prominent angular and straight appearance is the mainstream, EVAR’s new product has a clean exterior design with a soft curved line at the edges. In addition, it has an advantage of being able to apply customized color designs of charging operators.

Lee Hoon, CEO of the company, explained, “In order to alleviate users’ concerns about electric vehicle fires, we launched the world’s first charger that detects electric vehicle fires. We will use our experience of operating the world’s largest smart load balancing charging infrastructure to further solidify our position as a leading technology company that provides all safe solutions necessary for electric vehicle charging for a worry-free electric vehicle life.”
Meanwhile, EVAR was selected as the representative Korean company in the startup pitching competition hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Seoul in March, and participated in the 2023 SelectUSA Investment Summit, a global startup competition hosted by the U.S. government, held from May 1 to 4, and the SelectU Tech.

Electric Refrigerator Truck

https://korean-machinery.com///inquiry

[INQ. NO. 2305M02] Daechang Motors Co., Ltd., a domestic company specializing in the production and sale of small electric trucks, has recently succeeded in developing the small (loading weight 550kg) electric refrigerator truck called ‘Danigo-R2.’

The Danigo-R2 is based on the Danigo-C (cargo truck) vehicle and is additionally equipped with a battery (57.7 kWh) for driving the vehicle and a battery (13 kWh) exclusively for a freezer so that the refrigerator can stay
cool even when the vehicle is in a non-operating state. Therefore, since it is possible to maintain the refrigerating/ freezing temperature more stably, it can be used as a mobile freezer.

Since a typical refrigerator vehicle uses a single battery both to drive the vehicle and operate the freezer, the mileage per charge is shortened, and there are many complaints from drivers since they cannot turn off the refrigerator vehicle even after finishing their own work for fear of spoiling refrigerated/frozen items.
Daechang Motors’ electric refrigerator vehicle Danigo-R2, which can solve these problems at once, is expected to
emerge as an alternative vehicle to resolve such complaints from refrigerator vehicle drivers upon its release.
In addition, the Danigo-R2 features various and many other safety devices including an Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Stop Assistance (HSA), Electric Power Steering (EPS), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), airbags. The front-wheel tires located in front of the semi-bonnet and driver’s seat greatly help protect the driver’s safety in the event of a head-on collision.
In addition, the wheelbase distance is long, so driving stability also ensures excellent performance. In particular, the motor is installed directly over the rear wheels of the platform dedicated to electric vehicles to maximize power performance and fuel efficiency.

Danigo-R2 has completed certification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) for domestic sales, and is currently undergoing certification from the Ministry of Environment, and full-fledged sales began in April.
